tHE wEDDING CELEBRATION OF
Ellie & Jack
Why The Snowy Mountains?
The Snowy Mountains is a special place for us. We have enjoyed ski trips to Perisher and Thredbo over the years with both family and friends but also love the scenery, serenity and natural beauty the area has to offer.
It can be a long drive, but as soon as we reach Cooma every time we can’t wipe the smiles from our faces. We hope that you can enjoy a weekend away with us at our favourite place as we celebrate our wedding.
It is a 15 minute drive from the Wedding Ceremony in Jindaybe to the Reception at Lake Crackenback.
We are providing a bus from the ceremony in Jindabyne to the reception, as well as a return trip from the reception to Jindabyne at the end of the night.
Please let us know if you require this when filling out your RSVP form.
Sydney to Jindabyne
The easiest way to get to Jindabyne from Sydney is to drive (approximately 5-6 hours). We recommend car-pooling if you can.
There is also the option of catching a train from Central Station to Canberra Kingston Station, then catching a coach to Jindabyne. The train and coach option can be booked online through NSW Train Link.
If that sounds too complicated, then there is always a flight from Sydney/Canberra to Snowy Mountains airport through the REX airline.
The closest major airport is Canberra Airport. Jindabyne is located just under 2 hours drive from Canberra.
There is a coach from Canberra to Jindabyne, or the option of a hire car from the airport. The coach can be booked through NSW Train Link bookings and costs approximately $26.00 one way.
You could also fly from Sydney/ Canberra to the smaller Snowy Mountains airport through the REX airline.
Jindabyne offers a range of accommodation options for most budgets. A couple of our favourite places include ‘Jindy Inn’ and ‘Panorama’ which are cheaper and have no minimum number of nights required. Jindabyne is only a 15 minute drive from the reception venue. If you choose to stay at Jindabyne, we will provide a couple of bus trips to and from the reception to help you get back to your accommodation. Please indicate if you’d like to use the bus to and from the reception venue when filling out the RSVP form.
Lake Crackenback Resort
We will be staying at Lake Crackenback Resort on the Friday and Saturday night of our wedding weekend. While we would love for you to all be at the resort with us, we understand the resort may not cater to everyone’s budgets. If you do choose to stay at the resort with us, they require a two night minimum stay. There is a 10% discount code on offer for all our guests. Please email us to receive this code. We recommend booking this as soon as you can to make sure you don’t miss out on a lower priced room!
There is no expectation to leave a gift, in fact, we don’t have a gift registry. We understand the costs involved in travelling to Jindabyne and simply having all of our friends get there with us to celebrate our marriage would please us greatly. If you absolutely must leave us a gift we will have a wishing well at the reception.
